Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and share your information when you use our mobile application. Our goal is to be transparent regarding what information we do and do not have access to and where this information is shared. RoleCall will never sell your personal information to third parties, and will never disclose your identity unless required by law or to law enforcement to ensure the safety of our communities.


Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Phone number (for verification), email, name, username.
  • User-generated Content: Photos, audio clips, videos and any other media you upload or create.
  • Inputs and Outputs: We may use de-identified inputs (images, audio clips) and outputs (videos) to improve our AI features, but these are never linked to your personal account or identity, and are not used for advertising.
  • Contacts: With your permission, your address book so you can more easily connect with friends and send invites.
  • Device Data: IP address, device type, operating system, mobile network and app version. We use this to customize the Service for your device, provide support and deliver notifications.
  • Usage Data: Your use of the Services, including access times, RoleCalls viewed, user and RoleCall interactions (e.g., likes, reports), and other information about your interactions with us, the Services and other users. We use this to personalize your experience, provide and improve the Services and monitor and analyze use of the Services.
  • Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information that helps us improve our Services and your experience.
  • Log Data: Diagnostics, crashes and performance data to help us fix bugs.
  • Marketing Data: Preferences about notifications or promotions.
  • Payment Info: If we ever offer paid features, payment details will be collected by our payment processor (not stored by RoleCall).
  • Other Info: You may provide information directly to us if you choose to fill out a form, update your account, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us.

Permissions We Request

  • Camera: to record photos or videos.
  • Microphone: to record audio clips.
  • Photo & Video Library: to select existing media.
  • Contacts: to find friends and send RoleCalls.
  • Notifications: to alert you when friends send RoleCalls, view your RoleCalls or when your media has finished generating.

You can change or revoke permissions anytime in your device settings.


Content You Create On RoleCall

When you interact with the RoleCall app, we collect information and content you create. We may automatically review or scan content using automated systems for safety, abuse prevention, and product improvement. In rare cases, human review may occur, but only as necessary for moderation or legal compliance.


If you choose to share a RoleCall publicly, they may be viewed, shared and modified by our users. Your personal information is never publicly visible to other users or moderators in the RoleCall app, but please keep in mind that if you include information that could identify you in your RoleCall video, people who see it may determine your identity. RoleCall has no obligation to keep private any information that you choose to disclose to other users or the public using these functions. We strongly recommend that you do not post any information through the Services that allows strangers to identify or locate you or that you would otherwise not want to share with the public.


Sharing Of Information

  • With friends or the broader RoleCall community: Content you choose to send to them becomes visible to them.
  • With service providers: We share only the minimum necessary personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app (such as SMS verification providers, cloud hosting, or analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only on our behalf.
  • For safety or legal reasons: To comply with law or prevent harm.
  • With consent: If you choose to share via third-party platforms.
  • If merged, acquired, divested, financed, sold, disposed or dissolved: your personal data and any other collected information may be among the items sold, transferred or otherwise disclosed as part of that transaction or proceeding.

Where Information Is Processed

We may store or process your Personal Information outside of the country where we collect it or which you reside. The Company has its primary place of business in the United States of America. You should understand that we may transfer some or all of your Personal Information to the United States of America to carry out certain operational and processing needs as described in this Policy.


International Transfers

RoleCall is based in Canada and the United States. Your data may be processed in these countries. For international users, local laws may differ but we apply the same protections described here regardless of where your data is processed.


Data Retention

We keep information related to your Account for as long as it is needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to provide our services, to deal with possible legal claims, to comply with our business interests and/or to abide by all applicable laws. Thereafter, we either delete your information or de-identify it. Please note that even if you request the deletion of Personal Information about you, we may be required (by law or otherwise) to retain the Personal Information and not delete it. However, once those requirements are removed, we will delete Personal Information about you in accordance with your request.


Security

We understand the importance of privacy and security of Personal Information to our users and have made them a priority. RoleCall uses a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect Personal Information about you from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure and trains RoleCall employees on privacy and security issues. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to overcome those measures or use your Personal Information for improper purposes, and we do not promise that Personal Information about you or private communications will be protected from unauthorized disclosure or use.


Children’s Privacy

RoleCall is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have done so, please contact us at support@rolecall.fun and we will delete it.


Teens Under 18 Privacy

We may also limit how we collect, use and store some of the information of RoleCall users under the age of 18. In some cases, this means we will be unable to provide certain functionality to people under the age of 18.


California Residents

Some US state consumer privacy laws require specific disclosures about the categories of personal information we collect and how we use and disclose that information. You can read more in the sections above. State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their residents with rights to:


  • Confirm whether we process their personal information.
  • Access and delete certain personal information.
  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, taking into account the information’s nature and processing purpose (excluding Iowa and Utah).
  • Data portability.
  • Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising (excluding Iowa); sales; or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (excluding Iowa and Utah).
  • Either limit (opt-out of) or require consent to process sensitive personal data.

We do not “sell” personal information or “share” personal information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising, and we do not process personal information for “targeted advertising” purposes (as those terms are defined under state privacy laws). We also do not process sensitive personal information for the purposes of inferring characteristics about a consumer.


Exercising Your Rights. To exercise any of these rights, please email us at support@rolecall.fun.


Verification. To protect your personal information, we may require you to verify your credentials before fulfilling requests. If we cannot verify your identity, we will not be able to honor your request.


Authorized Agents. You may submit a rights request through an authorized agent with signed permission; we may require you to independently verify your identity.


Appeals. To appeal a decision regarding a rights request, email support@rolecall.fun within 30 days with details supporting your appeal. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 30 days (or notify if more time is needed).


California (Minors). If you are a California resident under 18 and have posted content to the Service, you may request its removal by emailing us at support@rolecall.fun. We will make reasonable efforts to anonymize or remove it from public view, though complete removal from all locations cannot be guaranteed.


Nevada. Nevada residents may submit sale opt-out requests to support@rolecall.fun. We do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements.


Canadian Privacy Rights

If you live in Canada, by law you have the right to request access to and to correct the personal information that we hold about you. To review, verify, correct, or withdraw consent, email support@rolecall.fun. We may request information to confirm your identity, may charge a reasonable fee in some cases (we will notify you in advance), and may decline changes that would violate law or make information incorrect. If you are concerned about our response, contact our Privacy Officer at the same email.


EU/UK/EEA Privacy Rights

If you reside in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, the following additional terms apply to our processing of your personal data.

Legal Basis for Processing. We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you; for our legitimate interests or those of third parties; to comply with legal obligations; and with your consent (e.g., special category data as defined by GDPR Article 9).


Legal Rights. Depending on circumstances, you may have the rights to access, correct, erase, object to processing, restrict processing, data portability, and withdraw consent. To exercise rights, contact support@rolecall.fun.


Fees. No fee unless a request is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive; we may refuse in such cases.


Verification. We may request specific information to confirm identity and secure your data.


Response Times. We aim to respond within one month and will notify you if additional time is required.


Right to Lodge Complaint. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concerns.


Deletion Request Rights

You have the right to request that we delete any Personal Information about you that we have collected. Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete unless otherwise required or authorized by law. Submit requests via email at support@rolecall.fun.


Methods for Submitting Consumer Requests and Our Response

Submit requests via email at support@rolecall.fun. We will acknowledge within 10 days and respond within 45 days (up to 90 with notice). We verify your identity by asking you to log in to your account or provide additional information as needed. Disclosures cover the preceding 12 months. We do not charge a fee unless a request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.


Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If changes are significant, we’ll notify you in the app or by other means.
